According to a message released by the Navy Recruiting Command, prospective sailors and ex-servicemen, whether Navy Veterans or Other Veterans (NAVET/OSVET), are now eligible for enlistment bonuses and student loan repayments up to $115,000.
“The current maximum enlistment bonus is $50,000 and the maximum loan repayment is $65,000,” said Rear Admiral Lex Walker, commander of Navy Recruiting Command. “They’re not mutually exclusive, so if a future sailor maxes out both, that’s a life-changing $115,000 and the opportunity to serve in the best navy in the world.”
To benefit from the bonuses, future seafarers and NAVET/OSVET candidates must be able to embark by September 30, 2022.
NAVET/OSVET applicants must enter active duty at pay grade E-4 or lower, meet specific bonus eligibility, and not have received a bonus when first enlisted.
NAVETS are applicants whose last period of active duty or active duty for training (AD/ACDUTRA) was in the US Navy or US Navy Reserve, were discharged or discharged more than 24 hours, and who completed a minimum of 12 consecutive years.

The message also has something new for high school students. The EB High School (EBHS) Active Component includes $10,000 available to high school students who enter the Deferred Entry Program by October 31, 2022 and graduate from high school before shipping in July 2023.
