KOLHAPUR: chief farmer Raju Shetti on Wednesday gave an ultimatum to the state government that if it does not deposit Rs. Bengaluru crossing the region.

Shetti said: “When Uddhav Thackeray left the government, he approved the release of money into farmers’ accounts. Issues with the policy have been rectified. However, once Shinde took power, all decisions made by Uddhav Thackeray’s government were abandoned.
He added that it was simply a matter of issuing a notification to the banks to release the funds to the accounts of the farmers, who regularly paid the crop loans.
“We were disappointed with Shinde because even after his tweet, no notification was issued. We will wait a bit longer. If the government fails by August 9, we will block the national road.
It was the poll promise made by Uddhav Thackeray that farmers with loan entitlements up to Rs 2 lakh will get loan waiver and an incentive of Rs 50,000 will be given to farmers who have repaid the loans on time for the encourage them to continue doing so.
